End of Break

We packed up and headed to the train station the next day. We got on a train and headed to Birmingham to spend the weekend with Abigial, Mark, and Jamie. It was a 4.5-hour train ride, and it was so beautiful. So many baby sheep in the fields, so many little rivers running alongside the train tracks, so many rolling hills and little mountains along the way. The countryside across the UK is really stunning in so many ways and it is so nice that a person can travel across it on train.

By the time we got to their house it was pretty much the end of the day. Abigail was gone off on her birthday present gift from her siblings. They had sent her money for a night away at a very nice hotel. She had a wonderful time. Mark, Jamie and we had a very quire night, and all got to bed fairly early. The next day was nothing exciting. Mark and I talked through some ideas for what he is planning to do with the little outbuilding in their backyard. Some friends of theirs came by. Mark left to go run a 5k race in Leicester. We went out and had Mexican for dinner and after Jamie went to bed I sat and watched the tornadoes begin to pour into Alabama. The bad ones came after I fell asleep.

The next day was worship at Grace Church Stirchley and then we were all invited to Stu Ward’s house for lunch. He is the pastor for missions and he and his wife have been wanting to have Mark and Abigail over for a while. We were a bonus to join time. It was a very nice time. Finally, Abigail and Mark dropped us off at New Street station and we made our way back to the Daniel House.

We checked in with several students about all their travels over spring break. Many had done Italy and either France or Spain. They all had great adventures and ups and downs, but everyone was safe and healthy. It was a good break and now we move into the second half of the semester.
